Afrin Lub belongs to nasal solutions. It is prescribed to relieve breath capacity through the nose in the case of nasal congestion. It contains Oxymetazoline. It can be prescribed during the treatment of cold and flu.

Indications

Local and temporary relief of nasal congestion in colds and other nasal conditions such as rhinitis and sinusitis.

Dosage and administration

To spray, squeeze bottle quickly and firmly. Spray 2 or 3 times in each nostril, but not more often than every 10 to 12 hours. Do not exceed 2 doses in any 24-hour period. Do not tilt the head backward while spraying. Wipe nozzle clean after use.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to adrenergic decongestants;
• Transsphenoidal hypophysectomy.

Side effects

In some cases, the product can cause itching, dryness and itching of the nasal mucosa, sneezing. Prolonged use can cause rebound congestion.

Overdose

No cases have been reported so far.

If too much nasal spray is applied or someone swallows the medication, call your local poison control center. If the victim faints or stops breathing, request emergency medical assistance at 911.

Interaction

• Risk of hypertension increases when Afrin Lub is used with MAOI, tricyclic antidepressants and methyldopa;
• Avoid using this product with adrenergic bronchodilators, phenothiazines.
