Alitraq powder is a specialised elemental nutrition that is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiency. The formula provides nutritional support for people with impaired digestion or special nutritional needs. It is used in AIDS, burns, cancer, dysphagia, gastrointestinal disorders, hepatic dysfunction, pancreatic insufficiency, pulmonary dysfunction, renal dysfunction, sepsis, major surgery or trauma. The composition includes Glutamine, L-carnitine, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin K, Sodium, Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Manganese, Copper, Iodine, Selenium, Chloride, Chromium, Molybdenum, and Taurine.

Indications

Alitraq can be used as a supplement or as a sole source of food in patients who require in addition to an elementary diet an additional supply of glutamine.

It is especially useful in metabolically stressed patients with impaired gastrointestinal function.

Indications for use include:

  • Trauma;
  • Accelerated catabolism;
  • Malabsorption;
  • Inflammatory bowel disease;
  • Radiation or chemotherapy damage;
  • Digestive system surgery;
  • Start of enteral feeding and transition from parenteral to enteral feeding.

Dosage and administration

Dose: the one that the doctor indicates according to the nutritional requirements of the patient. It covers at least 100% of vitamins and minerals recommended for adults.

Route of administration: oral.

Contraindications

Do not use Alitraq in cases of obstruction or intestinal perforation.

Side effects

Adverse reactions are uncommon when the product is properly prepared and administered to patients without contraindications. Hypersensitivity to the formula can provoke nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, bloating and diarrhea. Treatment is symptomatic.
