Mellitron (Chlorpropamide) is an oral antidiabetic drug of the sulfonylurea class. It
lowers the blood glucose acutely by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas.
The drug is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This drug is not used for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
