Onofin-K (ketoconazole) is an antifungal cream that can treat skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and dandruff. It is also used to treat pityriasis. It works by preventing the growth of fungus.

Onofin-K is unavailable for purchase at the moment but there are plenty of similar antifungals you can choose from.

Indications

Onofin-K is indicated for the treatment of dermatophyte skin infections (ringworm capitis, ringworm pedis, ringworm cruris, ringworm of the beard) due to trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton flocosum. It is also used to treat cutaneous candidiasis, vulvitis and versicolor piritiasis.

Dosage and administration

The cream is applied topically. The product is usually applied to the lesion only once a day. In particular, to treat seborrheic dermatitis, apply the cream twice a day. Duration of treatment: Pityriasis versicolor, vulvitis, skin candidiasis: 2-3 weeks. Tinea cruris and tinea capitis: 2-4 weeks. Tinea corporis: 3-4 weeks. Tinea pedis 4-6 weeks.

Contraindications

Onofin-K is contraindicated for use in people who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, pregnancy, lactation and severe liver dysfunction.

Side effects

In rare cases, the cream can cause a burning sensation, erythema, itching.

Overdose

Exaggerated application in quantity or frequency can cause erythema and pruritus or burning. In such cases, it is recommended to suspend treatment and clean the area.

Interaction

There are no known pharmacological alterations but the application of Onofin-K with other medications such as Neomycin Cortisone and other topical antifungals should be avoided, in order to obtain greater efficacy from the medication.
